Sleep Mode

My mind’s not fresh enough

Staleness in my skull

Eyes heavily droop

Twenty second cat naps

As I sit watching

Bed beckons

Outdoors calls

Shower and shave gives a nod

I sit instead

In computer sleep mode

Simple breath just won’t do

Oxygen depleted

And deep yawns are called to compensate

The yawny respirator kicks in

Twice a minute

Just to get by.

WEDNESDAY…

--- Rainy day… sleep in a bit, do some writing, plan out some of the rest of my time home.

--- Go to Jim and Kristann’s in the evening.  A nice time talking and hanging out.  Longest we’ve sat and talked in ages.

THURSDAY…

--- Lunch with Jim and Kristann… some downtime after that… then supper at Wince’s with the family… cards there ends the night.

FRIDAY…

--- Feeling sort of crumby today… which is bad cause it’s nice outside and I haven’t been out around.  Still, I stay in and rest up… and by the evening am feeling less congested and not sneezing.

--- Del and Fish come by this evening.  Crazy that I actually fell asleep on the sofa before Del got here and his knocking and doorbell ringing didn’t wake me.  Good that Fish lived nearby… and that I woke up to pick up the phone after several rings. 

SATURDAY…

--- Visit Wayne and Sylvia for a bit… then go out with Craig… Fred’s Records… get a Tom Waits album… supper at the hockey rink… good burger… then the game.  3-2 victory with the winner scored with 40 seconds to play in the third.  A fun night.

SUNDAY…

--- Walk day.  Walk downtown for about an hour or so… lots of pictures… memories… and a little melancholy. 

--- Walk up to Frank and Shirley’s for supper… nice ten minute walk through the neighbourhood… And surprised that Dave Lafosse is there.  Good to see him and a nice evening.
