the Wood Stove

A new piece in the corner of my living room. Here's the wood stove in all it's electrical glory!

Note: The candle on top is real.

Looks real nice my friend! Why if I squint really closely I can picture myself in a small saltbox home! All you need is a nice kettle on the back damper and away you go!

True story...one of my co-managers told me how she visited a client in his home with one of our her case managers. The gentleman owned a beautiful log home with a woodstove in the living room. Lynn (my friend) said she sat at a rocking chair near the stove listening intently to this client's story when suddenly she felt a hand on her shoulder and the case manager's voice whispering to her to wake up! Apparently the heat/comfort of her surroundings got the best of her!She was so embarassed that she later told the case manager to give the client whatever he needed!

Looks very inviting, Chris. Perfect for storytelling and writing. Are those all your CD's to the left or are they movies? The lawyer in me feels it necessary to ask that you're satisfied that your woodstove is safe? Connected by an expert, allowed by your insurance and condo by-laws, etc. I'm sure that's all covered so enjoy!

I have my mother visiting and the house is filled with the smell of fresh-out-of-the-oven chocolate chip cookies, chocolate cake for dessert after a Sunday roast chicken dinner, just like when I was a teenager at PWC in St. John's except now I don't have any homework, I can just read for pleasure on a Sunday afternoon so time to read your update and story ....

Susan (your other big sister) xx

Good story Craig. Sleeping by the woodstove is so easy and peaceful. I'd like a real one again someday.

Susan, it's all nice and legal... if things get out of hand it's just a matter of pulling the plug!

And yep, they're my CDs. The only DVDs in that picture are the Lord of the Rings trilogy on the corner of the TV table on the left. And if you zoom in to that corner, you'll also see that there are more CDs beneath it. They're the B-pile of CDs that don't make it to the over crowded stand. I need a new storage system soon!

Enjoy your Sunday tastes and smells.
Chris
